FAQ
Seedkeeper is a password manager built on smart card technology. The card’s chip functions as a secure element, ensuring that any secrets imported into its memory via the mobile or desktop app remain completely inaccessible to hackers.
With Seedkeeper, you have the flexibility to use your smart card anytime, anywhere. It’s fully compatible with both iOS and Android, making it perfect for mobile users on the go. Plus, you can seamlessly use it on your desktop, whether you’re at work or at home.
The Seedkeeper card is built with an EAL 6+ certified chip, one of the highest security certifications available. This ensures top-tier protection for your secrets, trusted by industries requiring the utmost security standards.
The companion app lets you create strong passwords for everyday use and also import any existing credentials. This includes accounts like Facebook or Twitter, your bank PIN code, or other family access information.
Your Seedkeeper has a total memory capacity of 4095 bytes. By using concise, descriptive labels, you can store at least 100 secrets on your card. However, the exact number depends on the length of your labels, passwords, and optional fields like login details or URLs.
If you lose your card, you also lose access to your secrets, just like with any other self-custody solution. However, we’ve developed a backup feature that makes it easy to create a duplicate of one Seedkeeper card onto another with just two clicks.
We highly recommend keeping multiple Seedkeeper cards as part of your security strategy. Check out our Ultimate Security Pack for the best way to stay protected!
